A bit more about me

I'm delighted you are interested in working with me as a celebrant for your big day!

My own wedding was in Mexico many years ago, and the ceremony was conducted by the local equivalent of a registrar. The ceremony was fine, but far from memorable, but what really stuck in people’s memory was the beautiful and funny speech that my father gave that day. It made me think why couldn’t the whole ceremony have been more heartfelt and witty too.

My dad was a humanist celebrant, conducting both weddings and funerals with great compassion and humour. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, I decided I wanted to do something different professionally, that would play an active tribute to him, whilst drawing on my skills and experience of public speaking, including whilst working overseas as a diplomat. I’m also an incorrigible organiser with a focus on community fun, from our local park fetes, to street parties and community (pop) choirs.

I’ve been qualitied as a humanist wedding celebrant since July 2025 and I conduct wedding ceremonies that reflect my father’s love for story-telling, for (clever and kind) humour and for bringing people together in a meaningful way for one of the most special life events. He didn’t get to see me conduct a ceremony but I know he was proud of what I’m doing.

Now I get to meet amazing couples, hear their stories, and help them kick off married life with a ceremony that’s joyful, personal, and (hopefully) unforgettable.
